>>18209703...only to be met by the furious fist of her only child Duna, slamming into her jaw and forcing her head to snap violently to the side. The older woman staggered back into her living room, as Duna stomped into the home after her. If Duna had been depressed or upset over her recent losses, she wasn't showing it, instead wearing a wide grin on her face as she advanced on her mother.
>"Fuckin' really? You let your goddamn guard down that easy? No wonder you're just the *former* fuckin' queen..."With a mad cackle past her lips, Duna raised her arm to strike at her mother again, but the older and more experienced Dahlia was already prepared, already having shaken off the punch that had been Duna's greeting. As the reigning Queen of the Beach threw another stiff strike toward her mom, Dahlia's hands snapped up before her, catching Duna by the arm. Before her daughter could react, Dahlia was already twisting her upper body around, sending her daughter stumbling across the living room.
She came to a stop before the wall, raising her hands to stop herself from running into it...and quickly realizing that Dahlia had sent her flying straight toward a portrait of Grandmama Sands. For the briefest of moments, Duna froze, staring at the picture, captivated by the judgemental, piercing gaze of her deceased grandmother...
...and while she was standing there staring like a great big idiot, Dahlia was coming up behind her. Wasting no time, she snatched a handful of Duna's hair from behind, letting out a deep shout as she slammed Duna's head forward, her daughter's forward smashing into the glass protecting the portrait. Spiderweb-esque cracks spread along the glass, as Duna's head bounced back off, a thin cut now running along the length of her forehead. As Duna shrieked in a mix of pain and fury, her mother stepped back, folding her arms over her chest, and finally addressing her child with her words.
>"And *you* are still just a brat who doesn't know her place..."
