>>11275954At some development point, Bulletstorm was originally intended to be Duke Nukem Forever. After 3DRealms sold the Duke Nukem trademark to Gearbox, Gearbox didn’t gave a fuck because they were developing Borderlands 2 so they externalized the development to People Can Fly. PCF tried so fucking hard using 3DRealms original engine (yes, Build engine and capable of 3D rendering) but they couldn’t make a good looking demo for 2007 so they tried to mix the physics libraries from Unreal Engine 2 with the Build engine resulting in an absolute fuck up.
Then, in 2008-9 PCF started to remake it in Unreal Engine 3, but Gearbox stopped them before an early alpha, and used that spastic Build-UE2 engine to finish it before 2011 resulting in what Duke Nukem: Forever is at this day.
