>>16647025>>16647027>>16647028Why do I have to keep coming here to correct your false dichotomies of what you think the Bible says about a particular topic? Just read the thing already, it's not that difficult.
>1 Timothy 5:23 - No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent [h]infirmities. Here it clearly states that it is a good thing to drink wine because it is physically healthy for you.
>Ephesians 5:18 - And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Here it clearly states to not be drunk with wine. It honestly cannot get anymore clear than this.
>Proverbs 23:20-21 - Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags. Here it clearly states the consequences of what happens if you do get drunk.
>1 Corinthians 6:12 - 12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. This is understandably more esoteric. In this case, he is saying that while there are things that are lawful for you to do, they may not be beneficial to you which goes hand in hand with the next verse.
>1 Corinthians 8:13 - Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.Even if you can drink wine without it becoming a problem for you, if you drinking wine--knowing it is a temptation for your brother--and cause him to fall, "ye sin against Christ."
That last part is why most people on here are just roleplaying as Christians because being one in actuality requires a level of selflessness that isn't common in most people.
