American victory is so pervasive in western culture because the Nazis had to be the supreme evil, so that the predominant super power post WW2 could be made into the supreme good. That was done in large part to cement globohomo / pax americana / pax iudea across the world. By spreading the cultural meme of having defeated the Supreme Evil™, the Nazis, it made America the Supreme Good™, which could therefor do no wrong no matter how many wars they started, and the Jews into the Supreme Victims™.
