>>9665321>Besides, aren't bigger Russian cities like Moscow or St. Petersburg similar to our cities? They are, but the farther you get from them, the sadder the situation becomes, except for a few other cities like Krasnodar or Novosibirsk. Liberals criticising Putin's government aren't inherently wrong about some stuff I think, but the thing is that they are ready to spread their ass cheeks open wide to any Euro-populist who promises to make Russia a paradise on Earth and fix Russia's relationships with the West. I don't think that they themselves really know why they want Russia to be like Europe other than the fact that the income there is higher on average, but even then they think of it as some sort of undisputable virtue just because many of them already do possess a consumerist mindset. So it's only natural that they get blinded by high salaries, Hollywood films, cheap pop music and other stuff like that without truly realising why they want it. Sometimes they also say about liberty being the highest value but in reality they would rather live in a prosperous yet authoritarian country than a free but a poor one, so in the end all their views can be simply dumbed down to consumerism, I think.
>Nowadays politics are all money-drivenThat's true, but to be honest I lost interest in politics overall not just due to this fact but because at some point I realised that politics are based around society and finding different ways to perfect it, and since I had earlier come to a conclusion that 95% of people in any country and in any historical period have essentially the same primitive mindset with only level of savageness being different due to different levels of economic prosperity, I stopped caring about it as I already didn't really care about society in general.
