But God so desired to save us wretched pissants from ourselves that He sent His Son to take on our flesh and redeem us through His holy living, sinless death, and resurrection. So you can't love your neighbor as yourself, and you can't love God with your whole heart, mind and soul. The only solution then is to confess your sins and failures to God and believe that what Christ accomplished is sufficient to save you. With that knowledge, you are free to then go on trying to love God and neighbor, however imperfectly, with the assurance that your sins are forgiven because your salvation is not based upon your performance.
