Tamriel Rebuilt alone adds a fuckton of content that doesn't really clash with the original experience IMO, and OpenMW (a work in progress open source engine in case you aren't aware of it) has even has functional multiplayer at this point. I haven't touched Oblivion in about a decade but Morrowind has a certain essence to it that the newer TES games haven't been nor will likely ever be able to replicate.
