She put her phone aside for a second. The first morning lights pierced through the curtains. Paule answered to the sunshine by cocooning into bed. Most days she would have been the first one to exit her room and start the day waking up most people at the dojo. Today she didn't feel like it.
She extended her arm to grab the telephone again and read the message for the hundredth time. Carmody wanted to meet in the morning. Paule didn't want to leave her room. Maybe if she hadn't gone to Japan...
She replayed scenes of the trio having fun at training, the conversations at the lockers...now, Kanako was with Nika. And it seems she wasn't good enough to team with Kanako instead. Maybe if she had won a match...
Perhaps she should've written more. But she did warn Carmody about Priscilla, she said she was sus. Carmody didn't listen. Why? Paule shrunk again into bed. She didn't want to answer to that question. But she felt she knew the answer. She checked her phone one last time. And turned it off. She didn't sleep tonight. She will sleep now.
