>>2482019Depends what you mean by white trash. If you mean the trailer park sort of thing you see in states like Ohio, no, you will not see anything even remotely like that here. But there are a lot of hicks and rednecks, also tons of local farmers and fishermen. Maine has the #1 most rural population in the country, so it has a rural culture as a result. Lots of small, isolated towns, especially in the north. Moving there can be a problem, aside from no jobs, many families have lived here for hundreds of years and everybody knows each other, so it's difficult for a newcomer to penetrate into that culture. But Maine is very, very comfy. I never want to leave.
