the otherone basically the same as for hollowearth. all these years they said it is that way, when now suddenly comes out such a fundamental truth is wrong, then what else might be wrong? people would trust scientists less, they would lose authority as well as everyone else who got authority in the meantime and people eventually start thinking for themselves again which they fear the most.
