I imagine one can only receive so much information in one's life, that philosophers would discover the dialectic, and if was serious enough engage hermeticism, but I agree that if he recognized the nig problem, he would ultimately break through whatever intellectual plagues there are regarding life, death, God, our purpose and what makes life worth living at a wholesome level.
