I had a Guatemalan guy, Maycon, that worked for me who absolutely refused to speak English, but understood it perfectly. He was hired by the previous manager of the restaurant and became an absolute fixture of the place. One of the most hilarious dudes I've ever had around. We got along great considering how our communication was never in the same language for more than a sentence or two.
