So what did we do? We agreed to let them abduct humans in exchange for a military stand down policy on their intrusions and some expectancy of exotic tech given to us, something we haven't made too much progress upon because we're simply too dumb to understand the complexity of it.
ZPE is something they wanted to teach us, but the impetus is obstructed due to our short lifespans, something which they also will graciously assist us with lengthening.
Ultimately any assistance to us will be futile, because we are a naturally destructive species and don't really deserve their help.
