Its desperation and competitiveness that led her to steal the chips, during the confrontation she is fighting back tears because she knows she just catastrophically fucked over someone she considers a friend for the promise of money, thats where the real true underlying tension is derived in that moment, not the momentary anger. TJ was largely over it by the middle of the day.
