without santa the whole operation would instantly fall apart
>the elves work hard making the presentssure the elves make all the presents, but they lack the infrastructure to distribute them, and even if they somehow acquired the means they would lack the know-how to utilize it efficiently if they could even utilize it at all. owning a factory isn't equivalent to understanding the complexities of the machinery. the puny elves need santa's unrivaled logistical acumen which has been honed over literal centuries
>any random guy you pick off the street could do it hes literally just an overweight delivery guyhe's not just a delivery guy
he's THE delivery guy
he singlehandedly delivers more in 24 hours than all the doordash and ubereats drivers on earth combined and he does it every year free of charge. no tip. though the cookies and milk are appreciated
as for the reindeer first off how do you think they fly? they're imbued with santa's magic that's how. you lose santa you lose your flying reindeer. secondly even if you were able to somehow usurp his completely deserved and rightful position while keeping him alive so the reindeer retain their magical powers you probably wouldn't ever get the reindeer to do what you want. santa's raised them since they were fawns bestowed magical powers upon them and lived with them for hundreds of years. imagine going up to a 50 year old dude who has a great relationship with both of his (still living) parents and then telling him ok i'm your new dad, do as i say and forget about your old parents. its nonsensical
theres more but i have to sleep
