>>18217246>ketoconazole shampoo Yeah this is another one that's normally not mentioned. Note that ketoconazole may have some mild anti-androgenic effects in the scalp. It may not just be the anti-fungal effects since there are other anti-fungal shampoos that don't reduce hair-loss. However it's significantly less effective than a DHT blocker like finasteride. The amount of regrowth one can expect from Nizoral is comparable to a 2% Minoxidil formulation.
>>18217240>minoxidil 5% solution on there, also tipping it in with a dermaroller for absorptionYou don't want minoxidil to go systemic. It has legit side effects when it goes systemic. Some retards are taking oral minoxidil for some reason but they knew back in the 1980s it was unsafe as a systemic blood pressure medication.
If you're doing scalp micro-needling, don't use needle sizes more than ~1mm and go easy on the minoxidil for a 48hr window until it heals. Minoxidil has a 21hr half-life. Micro-needling should be done 1 times per month.
The purpose of micro-needling/derma-rolling isn't to increase minoxidil absorption. The purpose is to induce tissue remodeling and angiogenesis in the scalp tissue. It's comparable to PRP injections. There's some evidence that when there's less blood-flow/oxygen in the scalp, more testosterone converts to DHT. This is also consistent with the evidence of more cardio-vascular exercise reduces the rate of hair loss.
