>80s and 90s animeoooh have you seen Urusei Yatsura? Along with the films that's one of my favorite anime of all time, same goes for anything by Takahashi really. I don't think there's anything wrong with modern anime tho. The problem lies moreso with the repetitive schticks that are all too common with slice of life junk. A good example of that genre done right is YKK.
