So for T+1, that would effectively mean the trades settle overnight and settled cash is available overnight. I'm not sure if every broker does this... maybe the lazy ones settle later in the day.
But yes, T+0 = the day the trade is executed. I guess we could switch to T+0 but after markets close... which would effectively be the same as T+1 but before markets open.
