>>22155624>Yeah hedonists are obsessed with the body, they are materialists and then they whine when teh body decay.EVERYONE is obsessed with their body and whine when it decays. It's just that some people actually possess awareness and discipline to try and keep it in the best shape possible, for as long as possible, while the vast majority are just lazy imbeciles incapable of the simplest forms of self control.
Both suffer equally when their bodies break and are in pain.
But, let's be frank here: I can get unlucky, you can get lucky, but chances predominantly are, I'll be in good shape and enjoying life in my 80s, while you will be an incapable, agonizing diabetic cripple in your 70s - that is, if you even live that long.
>They completely lose their minds when they spend decades nurturing the body and yet they end up with cancer and some debilitating illness lol.Have you seen people with terminal cancer or debilitating illnesses? I have. I've seen people in horrible, excruciating pain. I dealt with people who were gradually falling apart. Dealt with bed-ridden people, people who were losing their mind to age or disease, and even people in vegetative state.
EVERYONE completely loses their minds when faced with this kind of suffering, it's something that will define the rest of your life, and you meditating or thinking about how it'll get better when you finally die and go to heaven will still be a cope all revolving around your condition and your new life.
The thing is, most of those people's suffering was a result of their previous lifestyles. And I hate to admit it, because I loved some of them. Most 80-year-olds are trainwrecks barely capable of walking, at risk of fatally falling down when taking a trip from their bedroom to a toilet, but some are running marathons at this age. And I can promise you: if you are not making the correct choices today, you won't be the one running marathons.
