In france the staff are really unhelping usually. Once bought a skate wing that was apparently not as fresh as advertised, made my kitchen smell like ammoniak.
Love Tesco and Sainsburys as well but just for the different products really.
Best ones in Germany are Kaufland, Famila etc. I switch it up for certain products only some markets have. Edeka is good for niche stuff, but never has things on sale so its better to get regular stuff elsewhere. Obviously Metro is great if u have a card or a friend with one.
