>yeah it makes it rough when people go in with too high expectations like they wanna be some perfect shonen hero or somethingThats one of the things I liked about coc, nobody was really a self-insert hero and by the end everyone had lost at least one character. Made the game-world feel more grounded and the stakes hire. At the same time though I can understand why some people don’t like/want that experience since making a fully fleshed out character is a lot of work and people become attached to their MCs as a game goes on. Plus to a certain extent the attraction of the game itself is the power fantasy; to play a cool and interesting adventurer in another world.
