It can survive without them but you're a shitty pet owner if you dont provide them. They have their uses as companions like being the best tool to teach kids responsibilities etc. All in all pets are great companionship you might want to use logical arguments against owning them but we are humans not robots and nothing beats coming home and your dog waiting for you
