>Hello YouTube, it's me again. I just thought I'd make a video on why pedophilia isn't wrong. So basically, I personally have had an experience with pedophiles and they're honestly nice people outside of the fact that they have different interests -- different sexual interests than the rest of us.
Pedophiles can be upstanding people. The only thing that makes a pedophile different from the rest of us is that, by definition, pedophiles are primarily attracted to prepubescent children. It is bad to have such a condition, but you cannot blame someone for it.
>And if we look past that, we cannot keep generalizing those who are pedophiles. There are people right now in jail -- they're behind bars because they have a different sexual preference than us. Is that fair? No, it's not. It's not fair. And some of the time they're not even real pedophiles. They're not even the ones who go out and rape little kids. They have consensual sex with someone that is not eighteen yet, or sixteen, or whatever the legal age in your state or country is.
Children cannot consent. Even having sex with someone above the age of consent can be immoral. Sex is not a commodity. Sex outside of marriage is, in general, harmful to the people who engage in the behavior. There are harmful social, psychological and physical effects that come from having sex. The speaker makes a point in saying that pedophiles are "not even the ones who go out and rape little kids." Child molesters are usually not pedophiles (or ephebophiles, or hebephiles). Rather, they seek out children for other reasons, such as wanting to feel powerful, or because they are more vulnerable. But this distinction does not excuse any such behavior. And no one has been put behind bars based solely on how they feel.
