It's like watching the Soviet Union collapse again. The “heroes” at Omaha beach will be forgotten, and people will think of them like the French thought of the “liberator” soldiers they spat on in Normandy.
There is some poetic justice, and satisfaction in watching America fail again and again from afar. Slowly degenerating from one generation to the other. Maybe I will have the honour to see a post-american world like my father saw the post-soviet world.
