>We will be better someday, so I want to be the one to get us there. >We will live among the stars someday, so I want my legacy to fly aboard the rockets that carry us there.>Our quality of life will improve, so I should improve my skills along with it.Holy shit, is it, is it fucking Hope? Is that what it is? Holy fucking shit, I'm coming to this realization as I'm typing this. Holy fuck. A desire for something, a feeling things will be better, and a compelling pull to get there. It seems so simple now, yet it also feels like the word "hope" doesn't quite get all of it, like a mental feeling of a popcorn kernel skin stuck between your teeth. Its what drives us, and what hardens us. Looking upwards, with the trust that we will get wherever the hell it is we are going. Why are there no heroes now? No-one to look up to? Why are there no great challenges for men to overcome? No more grand projects for our brightest minds to wrestle? Why is the news only ever filled with cities burning? Why do shills come to demoralize, rather than convert, or even censor? Holy shit, so much just clicked...
