its supposed to be left up to your imagination
like yeah the idea of humanity getting crushed in seven hours sounds crazy, but thats supposed to make you think about wow what could they have had to fuck us up that badly, its like people in an island making spears and thinking they can fight off anything then the entire us military pays a visit
ig if u dont like it its just what it is lol, but the attitude of the combine is what's more interesting to me anyway
and ya in the game theres still something of the ocean and trees and whatnot so u could say theyre still in the process of draining the resources even after 20 years
you know, i think theres one explanation at least to what couldve made humans surrender so easily, that being the field that makes them unable to reproduce
that alone would be enough if they were able to force it globally, but if the combine has something like that, who knows what else? maybe they didnt need WMDs because they could simply stop peoples bodies from functioning entirely with a field like that
maybe humanity figured it just can't win a war of attrition even if the combine were forced into "conventional" combat, and who knows what that is for them lol
really the truth is that yeah its lazy that they win so easily but it's there to make the game
the beta stuff is cool tho yea its a shame its scrapped but i like retail for being a bit more unique
