The world isn’t rational either. People genuinely think that one man’s pointless suffering in the final hours of his meaningless existence warrants the response it has received — mass movements, burning cities to avenge his death, erecting monuments to him, expressing quasi-religious reverence for his name, etc. It’s pathological behaviour, really. But it’s how humans have always behaved. It’s why religions exist. Nothing needs to make sense, it just needs to harness that primitive aspect of the mind that is incapable of reasoning and which exists to be manipulated by powerful, more intelligent humans.
Likewise, these same pathetic people who cry over George Floyd will turn a blind eye and will even attempt to justify needless suffering on a planetary scale (e.g., lockdowns, perpetual fear campaigns, etc.). They deserve everything they get. They deserve the absolute worst.
