>>15063912having too much MAO-A would cause you to feel down as MAO-A degrades dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, and the MAO-A triple repeats gene doesn't have anything to do with monoamine oxidase a inhibitors, which is a class of psychiatric pharmaceuticals which lowers MAO-A. You have too much MAO-A due to a genetic trait that causes too much MAO-A to be produced in the brain, and as such you have low dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. Know what ADHD is categorized by in terms of neuro-chemical effect? Chronically low levels of dopamine and norepinephrine. MAO-A triple repeats gene causes you to have less of those 3 catecholamines, not more, as it raises the amount of MAO-A as I said, it does not raise MAOI/MAOA-I, which are synthetic pharmaceuticals. It still makes you aggressive usually, per the "warrior gene" nickname, as having too little of these catecholamines can cause that effect. I have the same genetic trait as identified by genomics testing, as well as a short serotonin receptor gene.
