But honestly, I think you are mainly seeing the cult-ish weeb shit as many of them don't have real careers and/or hobbies outside of Anime. The trash Anime was able to flourish thanks to the internet combined with how many weebs live and breath on the internet. As I reach my 25th birthday, I started to fall away from a lot of anime once I graduated and become an accountant. I now only watch what actually catches my eye like One Punch Man. It's mostly automotive normie YouTube channels (BisforBuild, Cleetus, etc...) , LTT, and some anime for me. Escaping into fantasies, hobbies or even religion is a great tool for many including me from snapping and going full schizo mode. Especially those who see the dystopian world we all live in. There's nothing wrong with enjoying some big titty anime while also enjoying working on my project car and slowly improve my financial security on the stock market. It's all about moderation, and the West is slowly is forgetting what moderation is. Too much alcohol or weed will make someone a lazy street bum, and too much anime will make someone a fat virgin NEET in some poor mother's basement.
