They do suffer in old age from hip dysplasia more than most, but every large dog breed has a chance of that.
I had a mutt that was mostly Shepherd, and when he got toward the end of his life, I would walk him in winter, and sometimes he'd slip on the ice and couldn't get back up, so I'd carry him home.
Got so bad he didn't want to even get up to go outside to pee, so he'd wait too long, and leave a trail.
We had to put him down. Not so much for the trials he was leaving, but for the pain you could see in his eyes, all the time.
Larger dogs will only go 12 to 15 years or so, so you'd best be ready for it.
