first because it proved that the eastern barbarians don't need any legitimisation to act aggressively against germans, as many of the germans in the east had nothing to do with the nazis yet still fell victim to various barbarisms
And also indirectly because it proved that the proportion of urban population in Germany which skyrocketed in 1945 showed that having a large urban population will cause national decline especially in conjunction with the nation-destructive system of democracy.
