Interesting how hohols claim to be "of Cossack kin", it's literally in their anthem. Meanwhile, Cossack is purely Turkic word, most of Cossack-related terms like Kosh, Esaul, Ataman are Turkic. Hohol culture (let's call it that, hehe) is basically Turkic as well. The national dance Gopak originates from the Turkic steppe, also Cossack Mamay, a popular folklore hero, national clothes, etc.
Modern Ukrainian language managed to preserve thousands of Turkic words, including Maidan, for example:
