Just what I thought basically when I thought the total horse archer army was a bad idea. They're defenseless against arrows themselves which is why foot archers behind spearmen in a checkerboard formation just effectively turns them all into food the vultures and other scavenging beasts

the general gist of what i got from a cav tactics tutorial was that are to be like water. Constantly moving and changing shape to get around obstactles or something
