>oili dont think oil is necessary, at least i dont use oil, not sure if others do. usually youre supposed to just put some butter in the pan first until it all melts then you put the eggs in. consider learning how to use a spatula too.

it's not going to jump out at you, plus for hard boiling eggs you dont need that much water anyway. you can just turn the heat down a little bit to just a simmer if youre that much of a pussy, albeit it'll take a little longer to finish.
