There's some hardcore gentrification going on, and soon as they get rid of the encampments I'm sure that a lot of "bad neighborhoods" will do the flip. Many of the people that were causing problems there have moved out to cheaper areas like Hemet or Fontana, which I hear are experiencing a surge in crime.
I've got a friend that lives by Macarthur Park which was at one time really really bad, but a bunch of hipsters and now zoomers are headed over there, and if anything I love going to his house because the hottest giant assed latinas walk right past his house and even hang out sometimes to smoke weed with us (I don't smoke weed, but everyone over there does). That place used to be gangland but gangs are really really becoming a thing of the past around here anyway.
