>>18178448Nikki's relationship with Priscilla was complicated to say the least, Amy had always found Nicole lowering herself to the status of Madame Divine's 'pet' distasteful and she had naively believed that she might have been able to break that spell. Her relationship with Nikki was complicated too, from hated rivals to lovers to friends, their relationship had never truly been defined, even when Amy found herself sleeping alone in Nikki's bed wondering if she'd come home she never really knew if she was a friend, a romantic partner or a tool. She thought she'd had a breakthrough moment in Japan after they'd trashed a private karaoke room together when she suggested that they run away together instead of going back to America, but Nicole had dismissed the idea outright, an act that had encouraged Amy to pursue Colby Jefferson.
Of course Amy kept these thoughts within her own mind, Nicole seemed to be happy with their arrangement - whatever it was, and Amy had found in Colby all the affection, thoughtfulness and stability she'd always wanted, but seeing Nicole still pining after Priscilla Divine made Amy's heart ache. With Jen out of the picture Nikki had fallen back into old habits and Amy wondered how long it would be before she found herself watching Nikki being strangled over a desk again. What would happen if Colby walked in on such a scene? The thought of Colby having to do the things Amy had felt she needed to do to protect Nikki made her feel sick.
For once Amy had absolutely no idea what to say. She daren't tell Nikki to go to Priscilla, or tell her to try and get over her. If this had been a few weeks ago she would've simply dragged Nicole into the pool and done things that made her forget all about Madame Divine for a while. Things are different now and this is painful. As usual the things that should be said would go unsaid.
