His Kingdom is not of this world. How much more clearly does He have to spell it out for you?
If it were His followers would be rioting in the streets that He not be handed over to Pontius. His followers however, are peaceful. Not as a matter of necessity, but will.
That said, the Father's wrath, poured out on the Son, is meant for us, for what our sin otherwise does to tarnish His and His family's name. You think there isn't a time for violence and wrath when it is your son in question. If your son wills grace, so be it, but you are still obliged to defend your generations as father.
Look at Christ to make sense of the World. Don't look at the World to make sense of Christ. He was in it, not of it. The World on the other hand, is of Christ, but not in Him - and like all things not under the blood covenant, literally bought and paid your ransom to induct you into His generations - the World will pass away, but He and those in His blood will remain.
