The hivemind has a large amount of sway over long time channers who may be looking for an alternative perspective of any given story they dont have the time to research themselves.
for example, i never wouldve have even dreamed some of the (now plausible) activities alleged by pizzagate - there is just more information out there than i could have combed through myself.
