Then, you hear the Colonel's revolver go off.
One of the NPC soldiers runs over to you.

You two both enter the bunker while the Vietnamese guy stands at the entrance, drooling as if his mind has left him.
It's dark, as previously mentioned, but there's some light at the bottom of the staircase.
The two soldiers with you follow close behind.
At the bottom of the entrance's stairway, you find a long corridor that's lit with dim floor lights, evenly spaced along the metal skirting panels.
There are a pair of double doors at the end of the hallway, but they have handles on them, rather than a keypad.
It's a good few metres to reach them/
