probably the easiest way to shift your preference (if not to fully correct it) is to listen to music with more beat salience (that is, the rhythm section is more comparatively prominent) than even rap, house and edm and that sort of thing
remember the human ear if presented with two pieces of music will tend to prefer the slightly louder one, all else being equal, and so to change your taste in music over time you want to listen to the things you want to start to prefer louder than the stuff you want to move away from
that said, rap really isn't going to ruin your life or your relationships
