in the orchids.... for the color
the anthocyans in their petals are pH sensitive and their ionised form changes depending on the pH of their growth medium so by adding tiny amount of baking soda or potash you can turn their brightly pink corolas into nice blue
or maybe even red if you add some citric acid though I do not recommend
