>>9799882>It is still a very important book as far as world literature is concernedI mostly liked it when I first read it tbdesu, but in my opinion Dostoevsky wasn't that great stylistically. He gets way too sentimental sometimes, kind of like Turgenev in his early works, and puts lyrical digressions absolutely out of place. For instance, I still remember how awkwardly he stopped the main narrative in Brothers Karamazov and started a new paragraph with something like "A y нac нa Pycи..." (roughly "And here in Rus' we have...") and then proceeded to talk about some secondary bullshit for the whole page or maybe even more. And although these details are minor compared to the overall size of his works, they still worsen the experience thanks to their frequency. So, although I could say I find his works quite poetic, I still think he's slightly overrated desu
