>Ummmmmm...I'll have the Risotto. And another bottle of wine please.
Kaori replied to the waiter, holding up an empty wine glass with a smile. She drank the rest of it, then smiled at Scarlet.
>...Y'know I was thinking...
Kaori's gaze dropped from Scarlet's eyes to the table. This was awkward, but needed to be said.
>Y-Yeah you're right, I probably should've tried harder to be friends with Noire...
Kaori grabbed the wine glass again, before she remembered it was empty. Dammit. She awkwardly set it aside.
>B-But you gotta believe me she started it! It was all self defense!
"Your wine, ma'am."
A waiter approached, pulling the cork out of the bottle.
>...Great timing. Thanks.
Kaori held up her empty wine glass. The waiter filled her glass, then set the bottle on the table.
>...S-So. I mean, she said all sorts of horrible things about me. I get she's your friend, but...I thought you'd defend me more.
Kaori looked at Scarlet, a bit dejected.
>...But I'll try to apologize or whatever. I can be a bit mean, so maybe I went too far. I was, erm, pretty hammered when I met her...
Kaori shrugged as she took a sip from her wine glass. Her hand awkwardly shuffled over to Scarlet's and squeezed it.
>I...I don't really have any friends here in America. And I'm abrasive. And kind of a jerk. So I can rub people the wrong way...
Kaori bit her lip.
>But I, um, I really like you. And I don't wanna...
Kaori squeezed Scarlet's hand again.
>I...I dunno, I guess push you awa-
"Your food, ladies."
A waiter came up and set a plate each in front of Kaori and Scarlet.
>...Thanks.
Kaori said, annoyed.
