>>10450580it's pretty good all things considered. i don't know why it's gotten so much attention that so many people would've heard of it despite being a foreign film, but i liked it. a bit heavy handed with the foreshadowing and symbolism so it's real easy to read but i'm a brainlet and don't really consoom enough media of this type to pick up on subtle stuff so i like it that way.
funny enough when i found it i just browsed top of all time so i missed all the BLM stuff. it's all just really shitty takes about how based BTS and exo are yet all other people associated with kpop are walking garbage.
i get why so many people are so up in arms, it's just deeply annoying to me how many people think they're adding something to the conversation by saying something to "raise awareness" or whatever. do whatever you like and support your cause, but literally everyone is aware of what's going on. if you're not already entrenched in politics saying "go donate" is not going to convince anyone you're going to reach to take up arms on something they previously didn't care about. i don't need ecelebs telling me the issue is out there and putting a subreddit on lockdown isn't exactly going to make waves. it's actually made so much media completely impossible to consume because literally everything is currently corona and blm "hot takes"
it doesn't get me riled up into action, it gets me to stop engaging with that content entirely
>>10450415it's a pretty simple message no? class disparities are extremely brutal and growing complacent will lead you to suffering forever but letting frustration over these facts become greed of selfishness can easily start a cycle of hatred leaving you much worse off.
u can just see it as saying that it's fine to take extra from those who can spare it as long as u keep ur head down, improve urself, and don't trounce on the weak
anyway i didn't really care about the message that much i just thought the story and cinematography were nice
goodnight
