mayhaps. i think it's mostly just the realization that i can put a ton of rum in it this time which i rarely have an excuse to drink.
last year was my first time making the nog so the first batch was alcohol free so my mother and sister could try it as well. after finding out they didn't like nog i made a second batch with some rum in it but i didn't have a good feel for how much nog i'd drink at once, how much i like or dislike rum, or my alcohol tolerance so i was quite conservative with the amount i used.
now that i know i'm making nog for myself, that i like rum quite a bit, an acceptable nog serving size, and my alcohol tolerance i can put in a lot more rum this time
