She still found it hard to believe. For so many years, Nikki was the only family she had. But everything about these two checks out. And before her mother died, she had often spoken of a twin sister ‘who lived across the sea’. It was hard to tell what was real and what wasn’t with her, such was the nature of her ramblings near the end of her life as her mental condition deteriorated. But the sister, she must have been telling the truth about the sister.
Just how would her life and Nikki’s have changed if they knew their aunt? And their cousins? The two Cassie could see with her own eyes, tearing each other apart in a wrestling ring, and three more in London, according to GJPW’s records on Lexi and Arleen.
Cassie turns toward the GJPW executive whose skybox she agreed to spend the evening in to discuss her contract. “How long did you say these two girls were here in your dojo?” she asks.
“Close to a year,” the exec replies. “They came shortly after you and your sister joined the WWA. They wanted to be like you two. But better. So they came to us to learn. Now it’s time for them to graduate, show the world what they can do.” He points toward the ring. “The older one, Lexi… we will debut her on our next show against Kyoto Nokani. Perhaps I can introduce you to her, arrange an appearance after her match. It would be good for us if we could unite your family on our sho-”
Cassie raises a hand. “No. I’d like to see how she does first. Then I’ll make my own arrangements. For now I’d rather observe those two from a distance.”
