yeah i know. i read a book partially set in the phillipines once. there was some area in manila called intramuros, between the walls or something and it got me interested to check and see why they were using spanish and why some of the characters had spanish sounding names.
this was when i was a teenager and at the time i basically had no concept of other continents even existing. except for america (meaning the us) of course.
