I was working remotely and spent a summer in Korea with my girlfriend when she was teaching in Ilsan.
Everyone's nice. The food is good and cheap. Housing prices outside of Seoul are reasonable. The society is high trust. You can leave your laptop or bike sitting around without worrying about some nigger stealing it. Getting around is very convenient unless you live in the middle of nowhere. Very little crime.
The only downsides really are the weather and the working hours (if you're a Korean, westerners get a pass).
