BTW does anybody remember a Japanese live-action kids show from the 60s or 70s, it was a giant robot but it was actually an aerial or radio tower or something? The kid was friends with it, it wasn't Iron Giant it was in Tokyo and the robot was a piece of the infrastructure. And it blasted off.
