during this realigning phase there are planetary flybys, some of them so close that a massive electric discharge can happen between the bodys (thats what destroyed Mars).
Last time during a Sun stress event the Venus got born and this wasnt even that long ago, within the last 6000 years so these events arent all that rare.
Also keep in mind we have multiple Jovians in this system.
